" I Peter 3:15 NKJV One way to give a "defense" or "answer" is through debate. The Berean Christians ". . . were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so. Therefore many of them believed . . ." Acts 17:11 Preterists really believe what they teach and therefore are excited to share with all the joy they have from knowing that Christ's promise of "comings SOON" was fulfilled 'SOON'. I recently listened to Perry Stone on a message he entitled 'LYING ABOUT THE RAPTURE: THE PRETERIST THEORY". He rejects any debate with preterists because he says it is "casting your pearls before the swine." I have found that not only do those who oppose preterism refuse to debate, but they even refuse to study the Scriptures to see if these things are true. I have never seen or heard a debate on preterism that was not over-whelmingly won by the preterist debaters, especially Brother Don Preston's debates. We are convinced that the preterist view of eschatology is correct and therefore can not keep silent - we must press those that oppose the preterist teaching to debate in a Christian manner with meekness in order to come to a knowledge of the truth. If anti-preterist teachers think I am following a heretical teachings they have a responsibility to debate me to save me from error. What say you?

Of course Stone does not want to talk to Preterist. Preterist are always refering to Scripture.
Scripture clearly teaches an first century return of christ.
With exegittical gymnastics the "futurists" can turn "SOON" into thousands of years.
Of course they soon, that is a "Preterist soon" learn that talking Bible with preterists exposes their brainwashed little minds they have to resort to namecalling. History will soon expose who the real pigs are.

Don Preston confuses his opponents. They use emotional arguments, or arguments using a literal interpretation of scripture. Then they ignore the literal time statements made by Christ, and all the other New Testament writers! One common objection, "Well, the 2nd coming didn't happen in 70ad because nothing significant happened." Instead of using scripture, the heretic hunter uses arguments such as this, and completely ignores Scriptural time statements. I've never received a response from an anti-preterist to this question: "What is so dangerous about full-preterism?" Personally, I don't care if someone doesn't except full-preterism, but don't call us heretics.
Should be be going on the offensive with our preterist truth? I'm like you David--the more we share our preterist thoughts, the more the futurists will go on the defensive to expose their un-Berean like close-mindedness. My hope is that soon they will do a self-evaluation of their thought protocol and start acting more Berean-like. What then do we do with family and friends that we love dearly but refuse to debate/discuss these matters? Do we continue to persistently press our thoughts when they continue to just ignore us? I certainly feel strongly about this and I want to help everyone that I know, especially those closest to me, to know the truth about futurism, dispensationalism, and zionism.
David, the anit-preterist teachers have a responsibility to debate you, but they won't. They are certain your heretical teachings are a sign of the end times and would rather avoid the conflict of addressing the issue. Their personal paradigm that disallows them to see your perspective is a powerful thing. My Mom tried to talk to her pastor about some things she read in some books by Gary DeMar and he now refuses to even talk to her about the issue! Anti-preterist teachers are usually wussies.
Name calling is about all they have left. Honest debate is something they run from because Christians use the Bible as a reference point and they hate that. A false tradition is their only argument.
If we make it a point to always use and just stick to Scripture they will run away like darkness from the light. The Bible itself is our strongest argument so use it.
I just used Scripture alone with DD Warren and she banned me from the christian section of tweb. That's one way to win an argument.
It is clear that the Preterist movenment is of God.

I appreciate Gary DeMar and James Jordan, though partial-preterists, they refuse to call us heretics. What ever happened to being a Berean! Acts 17:11b "...examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so."
New preterist on board here! I am excited to keep on studying this subject and learn as much as I can. I am having trouble expressing this to non-preterists because they think I am part of a cult or something. On the contrary, I want to research this as much as I can. So far, it has been extremely enligtening to understand the Bible in a different light other than a lifetime of evangelical rapture/revelation, etc. teaching. I pray that you guys will keep talking about this subject. Your posts are powerful and will get people to thinking. No longer a lemming in lockstep!
We will keep talking, I'll pray for your struggles with others thinking your in a cult. Preterists simply believe in fulfilled prophecy, I'll write more on this subject later. Personally, it doesn't matter where you stand, (unless your a dispy that hopes in WWIII)
just don't call us heretics. I've been battling this issue for awhile.
